Since your motherboard supports UEFI, it would be better to install with UEFI to take advantage of it. For a better experience, please enable JavaScript in your browser before proceeding.

Regardless of whether you need to get an unused key or not, the general process is the same. I didn't have time to install windows 7 on it, Classic shell worked well enough to get rid of the stupid metro UI. On most Acer systems, you can use the F12 key on boot to select the drive or network from which loading the operating system.
Downgrading Windows 8 Home Premium to Windows 7
The computer has to have come with Windows 8 Professional installed out of the box. When downgrading from Windows 8 to Windows 7, there are essentially two different, but similar, paths. If you have a Windows 8 Professional key, you can download to Windows 7 Professional for free if you meet a few other requirements. Otherwise, you'll need an unused Windows 7 key to downgrade.
If you are using any version of Windows 8 besides Professional, you don't qualify for downgrade rights. You'll need an unused Windows 7 retail key to downgrade. I repeated step 3 3 times, and secure boot is still enabled. The only way I can make secure boot disable is to put the bios in legacy. After shrinking C by the amount you want for Win7, you'll need to enter BIOS setup to disable Secure Boot, then try booting Win7 installer as a UEFI device to install.
Downgrading Win7 Pro To Home Premium - Downgrade - Windows 7

We obtained a great deal on refurbished systems last year with Windows 7 on them, which allowed us to skip those licenses. Depending on your licensing arrangement, you may be able to obtain a Windows 7 Pro key for much cheaper than buying a Win 8 Pro key. If you really are standardized, I would assume you would have a volume license agreement with Microsoft. Just because you want to downgrade to Windows 7 doesn't mean you should. Certain hardware features may rely on Windows 8 drivers to function.
How do I downgrade from windows 8 to windows 7?
When you're using your downgrade rights, you'll need to call the Microsoft activation hotline and provide your Windows 8 Pro key to prove that you are allowed to downgrade for free. Press a key on your keyboard when prompted to begin the Windows 7 installation process. It will take a little while to load the initial setup. If you want to save yourself some time after the downgrade, you can put all of the Windows 7 drivers you'll need on a USB drive and then set it aside until you're finished.
The Downgrader does the job by changing some registry values. Of course, you will need to go through some installation procedure to make it happen. The advantage of using this tool and method is that you will not loose your data or installed programs.

Pick up an OEM copy of Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, boot from the disk and follow the one screen prompts. You would be than upgrading from the new additional Windows 7 product key, which is fine. But if releasing the product key will render the old OS inoperable, we'll have to do it in a different order. It sounds like an Anytime upgrade to Win 8 Pro wouldn't help much, alas. Unfortunately, while we have a Software Assurance agreement for Office, we don't for Windows.
